Radicool Reptiles was born out of love for Australia’s unique native reptiles, and many of these animals need your help. We all have a responsibility in caring for Australia’s flora and fauna and by supporting us, you help with ongoing costs of the animals in our educational programs as well as assisting the rescue animals in our care.
Your donation helps to provide food, electricity, veterinary care, first aid supplies, antibiotics, quarantining equipment, travel to pick up rescue animals, teaching supplies, new aviaries, pits, ponds and enclosures.
We offer services to help rehabilitate injured native reptiles with the goal of re-releasing them back into the wild. We also offer a network for captive reptiles looking for their forever home.
As native reptiles emerge from their slumber (brumation), they go on to search for food and their chance to reproduce. During this time they can also sadly find themselves falling victim to road accidents, lawn mowers and machinery – amongst other things – feral pests and even our family pets.
Unfortunately we see these accidents and injuries first hand, and every year we do our best to rehabilitate them and send them on their way. Some will make it and go back into the bush, some will sustain injuries that will prevent them from surviving in the wild (those animals will spend the rest of their lives in special needs pits and enclosures); and some will simply not survive at all.
We also work with animals that have perhaps not experienced the nicest of homes previously and endeavour to improve their lives and wellbeing.
All these efforts take time, patience, a whole lot of love and of course: money.
If you see us at community events, you may notice donation tins – every donation you make goes a long way!
We can assist with finding a forever home for your reptile. Sometimes our circumstances can change and finding a quality home for our pets can be stressful. We offer a network to ensure captive bred reptiles are provided with a loving home. Please note, we cannot assist without the correct permit.
